What is this film called please?!
Question: My sisters and I watched a film a few years ago (probably in the mid-late '90s). It's about a group of teenage boys who go to school on a sailing ship.
I can't remember much about the film but I remember that the ship eventually sinks in a storm and the captain's wife goes down with the ship. There's a scene where the ship is sinking and the captain is clinging to a window, his wife is looking up at him until he has to go up for air. At the end of the film he tried in some kind of maritime court.
Most of the film is about the adventures the boys have, exploring tropical islands etc

It was called White Squall, starring Jeff Bridges. You were right it came out in 1996. It was a surprising good film. They travelled around the world, but a freak storm, called a white squall, capsized the ship. Six people were killed. It came down to, was the captain to blame, because of his harsh training ways, or were they the reason that the others were able to survive. Hope this helps you.
