A question about the Great Escape?!

Question: If they ever made a sequel/prequel, how would they find enough charismatic actors to play the parts these days? Any suggestions?

George Clooney, could play the German, commandant.Brad Pitt, maybe for Steve McQueen. Oh the hell with it. Save some money and watch the real version.

the sequal and the prequel is called WW2.

???

There are much better actors out there now then there were then!

Steve McQueen was mediocre at best. Coburn, Bronson and Garner??? Seriously??

I mean, Attenborough and McCallum i give you, but the rest? Peew!

It wouldn't be like the original. It's a classic and classics always do well without sequel/prequels...at least most of the time, right? Fire Opal?

I think they should leave it alone. If they did make a movie though, I think they could find enough believable actors today. George Clooney, Gary Sinese, Chris O'Donnell, Jim Caveziel, Eric Bana (they could get an Australian to play the manufacturer though James Coburn was good), Steve Carrell, Luke Wilson, Viggo Mortensen etc. Not sure it needs to be about charm, in my opinion.
