Kenobi had a deep enough understanding of the Force that he was able to become one with it at his death, and return from the "netherworld" (as Yoda called it in Episode III) to speak to the living. Yoda was able to do the same thing in Episode VI. And somewhere along the line, Anakin Skywalker figured it out, too, as his redeemed "Force ghost" showed up at the very end of Episode VI.

Yoda and Obi-Wan both learned it from Qui-Gon Jinn. Qui-Gon didn't **quite** have it figured out before he died, though. He was able to return to instruct and commune with Yoda (and later Obi-Wan), but his body didn't vanish when he died in Episode I. In Episode II, he returned to try to stop Anakin from killing the tribe of Sandpeople.

It shouldn be noted that becoming one with the Force and returning to speak to the living is very much the exception for Jedi, not the norm. It's easy to get the opposite impression because the first two Jedi Knights we meet in the movies (and whose deaths we witness) are Obi-Wan and Yoda.

He became one with the force.....Yoda also does it in Ep. 6

Yoda is also the only other.

Obi Wan's body vanished & he was one with the "force". HOWEVER..........read on
That doesn't fit with the first trilogy. . In Phantom Menace: Qui Gon Jinn's body doesn't disappear into thin air b/c you see the funeral @ the end. I liked it but there were so many inconsistencies not to mention WAY too much CGI
