Here's an interesting survival scenario...???!

Answers: While on a research expedition, if I was surrounded by a tribe of vicious and blood-thirsty Tubiton vampires, how could I possibly defend myself, where exactly am I, and what's so dangerous about my present location, radiation-wise...

...your mis-spelling of 'Tubaton', while striking a most familiar cord, is pretty much what threw me off, in jumping all over this question...

...however, if I WAS surrounded by a 'tribe of vicious and blood-thirsty TUBATON vampires', I would quickly grab the nearest bamboo stake (of which this 'mysterious uncharted planet' is replete with) within grasp, and start going to town on those long-fanged prehistoric-looking undead bastards; the Tubaton vampire, while although quite fast and vocal, are pretty dumb, so taking advantage of them, is rather easy...

...funny thing about the radiation on this 'mysterious uncharted planet'; it changes repeatedly every few hours or so, and the changes in radiation level are reflected visually, by distinct changes in overall atmospheric color, tinting the very air and rocky terrain, in much the same manner. Tints of blue, green, and yellow are fairly harmless; however, if the atmospheric tint turns red, this is extremely dangerous. Over-exposure to the red-tinted radiation can cause an unknown radiation sickness, and eventually can turn it's victim into a vampire....

...per the 1970 schlock horror/sci-fi flick, "Horror of the Blood Monsters" (...also known as "Vampire Men of the Lost Planet"), it is suspected that infected visitors from this 'mysterious uncharted planet', many many years ago, came to Earth, and it is reportedly for this very reason why/how the accursed plague of vampirism was inflicted upon our planet...

...and I never missed a chance to see this schlocky, so-bad-it's-good horror classic, when it was shown during the late-night creature features, in the '70's; in my opinion, if any movie absolutely cries out for a contemporary remake, it's this one!!!

You lost me on Tubiton vampires...

Yeah, what are Tubiton vampires? You must have made that up because I Googled them and this question is the only reference to them lol.
