DO you believe that every time you buy a pirate DVD you are financing major crim!

Question: I think it's all Bull

Answers: I think it's all Bull

I just watch them online. But frankly no, you're right, I saw an ad campaign saying that pirate DVDs finance terrorism and was like 'what the hell'?

Seriously, if they don't like it they should make legit DVDs cheaper.

I dont know.

I buy pirate DVD's off the little chinese men that go round to the pubs with them in their backpack, and I guess if you stop and think about it, you're probably funding them to bring others over here who will be living off our benefits system and contributing nothing towards society.

why buy? just use this site.........http://thepiratebay.org

well..who cares...the price are so high...some of us think its not worth it...so?...just buy the cheaper DVD...we are just saving money and the sellers just wanna earn...its an endless cycle forever..

same with cigerettes brought in from france - apparently funds go to people like the IRA , I know people who smuggle them in and belive me the only way the funds go to the IRA (or other groups like that) is if they own the pubs they drink in!

I never buy a pirate DVD. DVDs don't cost that much and you're often subsidising illegal immigrants when you buy one.

Nope I dont see anything wrong with it. If there was a bigger chance of being caught maybe I wouldn't but whose going to find out?

Probably, but then loads of legal goods also finance crime: eg: McDonalds clearing the rainforests.

yes i do believe it..the person you buy from may be ok but if the local crime family find out about them then it all gets more involved...same as buying drugs really...it's illegal so do you think the oerson will stop at that?

Hell no. It is bull. I don't buy pirated dvds, too dangerous, don't wanna get caught. I torrent.

No i think am saving money - and keeping the family happy

no, i know ppl who do it to make a living. its the movie n theater companies fault for raping u with high ticket prices. if they didnt try to make so much profit off of ticket n dvd prices the market for it would be slim. music and movie companies can thank themselves for the losses in profit.

A lot of it is. There is far more profit to be made in selling drugs or exploiting people for export or prostitution than there is in flogging dodgy DVD's. It does happen, but the bloke down the local car boot is unlikely to be linked to some gang-lord. More likely he is simply using it to supplement his benefits.

Well you are financing illegal immigrants selling DVD's massed produced with out paying copy right.

So yes you are what ever way you look at it.

No I don't believe it, and even if it were true I wouldn't particularly care. This is mainly because it would be only one more added to the list. As someone else said, there are plenty of legal companies that we buy off all the time, yet they commit some form of crime or at least highly immoral activities eg McDonalds (clears rainforests, contributes massively to obesity problems), Nestle (flouts international law with its baby food marketing in eastern countries), HSBC (known to fund arms companies affiliated with conflict zones), and let's not forget our own government shall we?

The fact is, I will continue to buy copied dvds because the price I pay for them is, most of the time, what the movie is worth to me. There are VERY few films I consider worth paying up to £20 for, and cinema tickets are outrageous. Though I must point out that the cinemas do NOT make huge profits from them; the fact is that ticket prices are so high because the distributors of the films charge the cinemas massive amounts of money for them, which obviously has to be passed on to the customer. My housemate's ex-boyfriend is the manager of a Vue cinema, and he explained to me once that they rarely make a profit out of ticket sales, and this is the reason popcorn & drinks etc cost so much; they have to make some money somewhere.

There is a HUGE pirate DVD industry in Iraq, kinda makes you wonder if all those GI's are financing the bombers that are trying to kill em!

That's a gross overstatement & way too simplified.
I know several people who pirate dvd's to make a few extra quid, and that's the only illegal thing they do!

I never buy illegal DVDs the quality is too poor. Bit torrents is the one too use amazing.

Yes it's wrong and you should watch dvds from the shops,

hey crazy horse!!!

who cares...they are always crap quality....so I don't personally buy them......but you enjoy babes!! lololol x
