Pretty funny movie but I had to look it up as it has been sometime since I've seen it and now you've made me want to go and rent it lol.
El Dorado is portrayed as a Utopian civilization that combines facets of the Aztecs, Maya, Incas, and Atlantis.
Wow I loved that movie, I have seen it at least 3 times. It's one of my favorite movies because of the comedy.
I have to say neither. The movie does not say but it is assumed to be Aztec gold. El Dorado is the fabled city of gold in Spain, and the "villagers" are "El Dorado" villagers.
Edit: Apparently, it MAY be Incan.
