Luke Skywalker's first lightsaber was his father's former weapon retrieved and given to him by Obi-Wan Kenobi.
During the first three years of his adventure, Luke upgraded the lightsaber by placing a shard of Kaiburr crystal in the focusing crystal hold and adding other parts such as an activator board. He wielded it until it fell into the depths of Bespins Cloud City after being defeated by Darth Vader.
After its recovery, Luke gave the weapon to Mara Jade years later.
Luke's first self-made weapon.After losing his father's lightsaber on Bespin, Luke wielded another lightsaber of unknown origin until, half a standard year after the duel, he used designs in Kenobi's home on Tatooine to build a new weapon similar to the late Jedi Master's saber.
A practical weapon with a green Synth-crystal blade, Luke used it during the rescue of his friends from Jabba the Hutt, and his final duel with Vader.
Luke practiced and specialized in Djem So, his father's style.
He had 2, one green, one blue. he got the first one from obi-wan, the second one(green) he made himself to complete his jedi training and become a real jedi, instead of an apprentice. the second one was introduced during the fight with boba fett in the 6th episode where jabba died

Luke had two lightsabers in the IV-VI trilogy.
The first was a blue saber that had originally belonged to Anakin/Vader. Obi-Wan picked it up after winning his duel with Vader at the end of Episode III, kept it for twenty-odd years, and gave it to Luke in Episode IV. In Episode V, Luke lost the blue saber during his duel with Vader in Cloud City, when Vader cut his right hand off.
Luke's second saber was a green blade which he constructed himself in Obi-Wan's old home on Tatooine, sometime before the start of Episode VI.
