It isn't a movie. It's a "Night Gallery" episode. I'll be right back with the complete information.

Rod Serling's introduction:
This offering is a landscape, lunar and low-keyed, suggestive perhaps of some of the question marks of awaits us in the stars and perhaps pointing out the moment when we’ll collect something other than moon rocks. This item is called "The Nature of the Enemy".

Season 1, Episode 5: The Nature of the Enemy
Original Air Date: 23 December 1970
NASA mission control watches helplessly while a space mission walks the moon trying to find out what happened to the previous one.

Cast:
Joseph Campanella, Albert Popwell, James Sikking, Jerry Strickler, Richard Van Vleet, Jason Wingreen

Albert Popwell should be recognizable to most people. If you've seen "Dirty Harry", you know Mr. Popwell: He's the bank robber Harry Callahan threatens with that famous speech:
"I know what you're thinking. 'Did he fire six shots or only five?' Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself a question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?"

All of that, and Albert Popwell gets to say only: "I gots to know." But, he did get to return in varying roles in the other Dirty Harry movies!
