The first three by far. The movies were magical, the casting was phenomenal, and the special effects were out of this world. The prequals relied too much on CGI, the same chemistry didn't exist between the actors and the story just wasn't as cohesive as the original Trilogy. I liked the prequals but the originals were by far superior.

what about it

You left out The Star Wars Christmas Special. It's a classic! ;)

Are you kidding me? I'm currently attempting a self frontal lobotomy to try and forget those awful prequels...wish me luck!

It would be nice if YOU knew what you meant before you asked a question ... a spell checker might help too ... just a little food for thought.

As for which ones are better ... that can't really be answered. Yes, many people try to and think they do a good job at it but in the end it is usually and answer that has no explanation. I think a lot of it depends on your age and which ones you saw first. The OT (Original Trilogy of ep 4 - 6) were unlike anything that had ever been seen up until that point ... they took the film industry and turned it on it's head. I don't know if anybody ever stays to watch the "credits" on movies anymore but if you did I would bet my left one that, if the movie had even minimal special effects in it, you will see the name Skywalker Sound, ILM or some other company that Lucas owns. And let's not forget the BIG one ... THX ... DreamWorks was also a Lucas creation ... where would we be without them. Anyways, those movies blew everybody away. It's amazing that Lucas was able to "go to the well" and come up with 3 great movies let alone 6. I was only 8 when I first saw A New Hope and even at that young age I knew that movies would never be the same again. One of the biggest problems with putting all 6 movies into context is that they "tell on each other". By that I mean if the first ones you saw were the OT then you already knew that Vader was Luke's father and that Leia was his twin sister and that Vader was also her father so the "big" secrets were already out of the bag so, for the most part, the prequels could only fill in the who and why for us "old timers". It works almost the same way with people who saw the prequels first.

I'll be the first to admit that after the "afterglow" of seeing a "new" Star Wars movie wore off I realized that ep I wasn't really that good. It had a lot of new info in it but the "no father, midi-clorians" thing was a complete bust that backfired on Lucas in a big way because it seemed to some that he was saying that births of Jesus and Vader were the same ... I did find it amusing the way the "Bible-thumpers" went off about that part of the story line. Then there was the racist thing which to be honest I didn't really see ... some things maybe, big maybe, but I know that was not what Lucas was trying to do and in the end all you can say is ... relax dude, it's just a movie. The only "saving grace" for me in ep I, other than the "tidbits" of new knowledge that was given in it, was the duel between Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan and Darth Maul. At the time I thought it was the best sword fight that I had ever, or would ever, see. That lasted about 6 years until ep III came out with the duel between Obi-Wan and Anakin/Vader. I don't know if that one will ever be matched ... just an incredible fight scene. Ep II was a little better but in the end saved by the duel between Dooku and Yoda ... gotta love CGI. Ep III, well Lucas knew nothing short of a "homer to dead center field" would work and he didn't disappoint ... IMHO anyways. That being said Return Of The Jedi is still and always will be my favorite of the 6.

May The Force Be With You ...
