The Godfather (1972)
often imitated but never duplicated indeed! it's the original mafia movie that catapulted this genre of films into super popularity.
In my opinion it's probably the best movie ever made period, Excellent acting by Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, James Caan and Diane Keaton, accompanied by phenomenal music score by Nino Rota, with probably the best montages and screenplays from one of the greatest directors in the history of cinema in Francis Ford Coppola!
