Deathproof?!

Question: Can anyone explain this terrible film to me? My mates all rave about it but I watched it last night and it is awful - woeful infact. I don't need to be told it was meant to be a B movie. You can't justify something sh*t by saying 'but it is meant to be sh*t'

If I wanted to watch a group of women with terrible dialogue going on about nothing and actually going nowhere in the film with these coversations, I would have watched Loose Women on ITV - also a load of sh*t

Oh good lord...don't get me started...... I rented it last week, shut it off about 10 min after it turned to real color... could not take any more of the yapping!!! I am mad too cause i wanted to like it, I love Quenton! I just could not handle anymore... I wanted to see the car stuff that i saw on the commercials but for the love of............ u get my drift

Obviously it wasn't your cup of tea.
But for some, the car chase at the end was worth waiting for. It was nice to see stunts actually performed without the extravagant CGI that is all to common anymore.

********

It was released as a double feature in the states along with 'Planet Terror' (which was the better of the 2 movies)
Before and in between there were mock previews that were highly entertaining.
But again, its got to be your kind of thing. And I know a lot of people that didn't like it.

It may have been a bad movie but the stupid women scenario wasn't near as bad as 2006's "The Descent". Talk about the worst in women doing stupid things award? Cheer up there are alot of good movies on the way.

I have seen it, and agree it was totally awful. In fact it was probably the biggest waste of money I have seen in a long time.

I seem to remember being told that it was part of a series of films that were being produced ! Please tell me that isn't true !!!

Stuntman Mike was just that, a stuntman. His car is a stunt car, therefore is probably designed and constructed to withstand a blow like that, occupant inside.

Having said that, I didn't like this film as much as I did the Part 2 of the Grindhouse feature, "Planet Terror." Quentin Tarentino is what I like to call a "homage artist." If you watch his films, you'll notice that he pays homage to various movies of the past, depending on the movie's genre. In the case of "Death Proof," the final scene with the white car is an homage to the grindhouse feature, "Vantage Point." Now, granted, "Vantage" isn't that great of a movie, but then again, Quentin has some weird tastes in movies. He also tries to induce "dialogue scenes" by having the conversation get the movie going. This worked (to great success) in "Pulp Fiction," but was much less effective here.

I saw it a while ago and agree it was totally awful. In fact it was probably the biggest waste of money I have seen in a long time.
