Question: I saw a preview on the web a few weeks ago about a movie where everyone seemed to get infected with (or affected by) something that causes them to have to start senselessly murdering one another. It felt like a zombie movie, but I don't think it is a zombie movie.

Two movies that are coming out: The Signal and DoomsDay.
Both have to do with either a viral infection or some sort of afflicted madness.

"The Invasion" (2007) just came out on DVD and they have been promoting it on television. Here's the plot: The Invasion tells the story of a mysterious epidemic that alters the behavior of human beings. When a Washington D.C. psychiatrist (Nicole Kidman) discovers the epidemics origins are extraterrestrial, she must fight to protect her son, who may hold the key to stopping the escalating invasion. The infected people sort of act like zombies and attack others. I doubt that you are referring to "I Am Legend" (2007) but that, too, has the same basic storyline of creating zombie-like creatures due to an infectious agent.

sounds like "Silent Hill" to me.the people on the mountain got infected with something related to scientific nuclear research and they start killing people. they look like zombies and act like one.
this movie has also been adapted to PS2 game. the game is fun like the movie.there is also "Silent Hill 2"
