Is this the bravest, most convincing film/movie performance?!

Question: I've just watched The Woodsman and was awe struck by Kevin Bacon's incredible performance as a recovering peadophile.

Can anyone suggest a beter performance?

I completely agree - he took one hell of a risk playing such a character and I know he came in for a lot of flak for doing so, but plaudits to the Bacon-meister...should've gotten an Oscar for that

Robert Denero - This Boys Life - I hate that character he plays

No, I can not. My wife and I are fans of Kevin Bacon and his
actress wife, Kyra, something. She was in the movie, as Kevins love interest. But it had no backing. You might find it on
independent or sundance cable channels. Good question.

Fabulous film, The Woodsman and, yes, the boy did good. However, if it's an individual role that deserves a round of applause, its Bill Bob Thornton in Sling Blade - he directed it himself.

russell crowe in gladiator, al pacino in scarface, de caprio in titanic..

Maria full of grace

The only one that comes close, in my mind, is Nicholas Cage in "Leaving Las Vegas." Bacon did just wonderfully, though.

I thought Sean Penn was amazing in Dead Man Walking

Mel Gibson in Ransom, that scene when he thought they had shot his kid brings tears to even the toughest guy.

a better poerfomence did by bradd pitt in Troy movie
