I bought a HD-DVD/Blu-Ray player.
So,regardless of who wins the format war,I will still be watching movies.

Well, at least Microsoft got the Xbox right.

Why does it matter. We have an HD t.v. and I can't tell the difference between the HD and the regular. As long as they keep selling regular DVDs I am fine.

This has to do with them carrying only HD TV's. They had already eliminated low-cost DVD players. The analog television will go away in February 2009. Right now, Wal-Mart is one of the stores selected to sell conversion boxes, the cheapest being around $49.95. That box will convert analog TV to HD. Every household in the U.S. is entitled to 2 free coupons worth $40 each, toward the purchase of a conversion box, if you don't already have an HD TV.

Nothing has been said about doing away with HD movies. That's what was said about VHS years ago when DVD's were first introduced. Movies are still being bought and sold and played by the millions in VHS. It hasn't gone away yet.

Calm down and get all the facts straight.

The Blu-ray players are also backward compatible, meaning they will also play HD DVD's. And what everyone else above me said.

Edit: I just read that Blu-Ray is not or may not be backward compatible. Oh well.
