Once on the island you can travel by bicycle or horse-back or horse-drawn vehicle, but not by car (in the movie Christopher Reeves drives up to hotel). The Grand Hotel maintains its turn of the century mystique. It still has afternoon tea and requests that men wear jackets and women dresses in the evening. It's most recognizable feature is its signature front porch, the longest in the world when it was built.

I loved that movie. I recorded it a long time ago and watched it many times but I would have to watch it again to know what the name of the hotel was. It was a fantastic movie.
