Biggest Movie Disappointment Ever (please read question carefully)?!

Question: What is the biggest movie let-down you have ever experienced? And I’m not talking about stupid movies you knew were going to be stupid and went in not expecting much. We’ve all seen those. I’m talking about a movie that got you got real excited when you heard it was coming out, marked the day on your calendar, bought tickets for opening night, went to the theater barely able to sit still thinking “this is going to be the greatest thing I’ve ever seen!”, and then once you saw it, it felt like Hollywood took all your hopes and dashed them to pieces. THOSE movies. What was the worst disappointment you had in this manor?

Now I am not the camping out kind of person, but my god I think i watched the 3 trailers for this movie for a year and a half, hoping this would be a good movie.

The trailers were good. They were - electrifying.

The day of the opening I was lucky enough to simply walk up to the Century 25 Theaters in Anaheim (about 1/4 mile from where the Ducks and the Angels play) with a pal and we got tickets.

The lights dimmed, the crowd was excited, and familiar theme music set my heart pounding.

What happened over the next 2 hours was the most hideous, stupid, ret*rded, poorly written, horribly acted, dopey, childish, juvenile, gooey, plot-less, ill-conceived, racist, creepy sex between a 9 year old and a 20 year old, illogical, bone-headed, unexplained, inexplicable, baseless, groundless, smarmy, ridiculous piece of craptastic film I have ever seen.

I am speaking of course of

Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace

Mine was Fred Claus because i really wanted to see it but when i got in their i left it was so bad! They Called it comedy..it was everything but that!!!

Cloverfield.

The hype was so much, too much. I watched it and hated it really, especially the guy with the camera, and how they never gave a good good picture of the monster, until like the very end. The pictures of scenes of the monster were like side here, ear here, toe here.

I think perhaps Narnia. The new film ("remake"). I actually thought they could pull of making the story again and making it better. But they failed miseably, and I am left with a ruined childhood memory.

The Mist.
I thought it was going to be this scary awesome movie that'll blow my mind away but I ended up hating it with a passion. That movie had the worst ending in history with my opinion. Right after they left the store, I thought they were all saved but he ended up killing everyone and the soldiers just came to the rescue. They never found out what the tentacle led to. I was so disappointed at every event occurring during that movie.

Beowulf. The previews made it look like it would be pretty sweet. I still can't beleive I made myself stay for the whole thing because I kept thinking it would get better.

Waterworld. At the time, there was this insane British comic called Freakwave--Gorgeous art, pretty much Mad Max on surfboards. The commercials for Waterworld looked very similar, and any time you are dealing with Dennis Hopper, you expect something interesting at the very least.

Well...

If it had not been scorching hot--and me without AC, I probably would have walked out of the theater--as it was I found myself making a critical analysis of the lighting cues!
I won't even mention the costumes.

I am gonna have 2 say Madagascar. i know lame rite but they built it up 2 b so much more than it actually was!

batman and robin.
it was soo baaad!!!

Blood and Chocolate. It was so completely different from the book. They changed every part of it. Serves me right for reading the book first ... that always ruins a movie for me.

Superman 3. I was so excited when I was a little girl to see it.I'd seen Superman at the movies around 7 times,Superman 2 9 times,I was so into Christopher Reeve. My room was covered in Superman posters. We went to see the third one and I was so disappointed.I thought it was just terrible and it was a crushing blow for my 11 yr. old self!
