...director John Hughes produced "Sixteen Candles" before he produced "The Breakfast Club", and although they both pretty much reflect the same sense of '80's teenage angst (...though "...Candles" is much more of a comedy), storywise they are unrelated to each other, despite having some of the same actors in both (...namely Molly Ringwald and Anthony Michael Hall)...
No they were not connected in anyway just two of the same actors were in it. The breakfest club was a great movie.

No, they are two entirely different movies. They along with "Pretty In Pink" were thought to be a kind of triology, because they all starred Molly Ringwald and came out within a three year period (1984--Sixteen Candles, 1985--The Breakfast Club and 1986--Pretty In Pink). IMO, Sixteen Candles is the best of the three!

no the movie 16 candles is a completely different movie but the popular girl on the breakfast club plays the lead girl in 16 candles. thats the only thing. omg the breakfast club is a great movie huh??
