It's based on a teen supernatural romance called "Twilight" by Stephenie Meyers. It's the first book in a series, about a teen named Bella who falls in love with a vampire named Edward.
"Twilight" is an old-fashioned L.A. private eye story, made in 1998, and starred Paul Newman, Susan Sarandon, and Gene Hackman. Newman does a favor for his old friend Hackman and becomes immersed in murder and intrigue, as tons of secrets begin spilling out of everyone involved. It's a good film, but there has been better of its genre.
