I think the new one is better because it addresses the issues in a more direct way and is a little bit more happy-go-lucky about it. The acting was great and I admit Divine did make a hilarious Edna Turnbladt, he didn't look like a woman and the whole movie seemed a little scatter-brained. Plus, the older version was adapted from the musical on Broadway and in no way was it a musical. At all! The newer version was the best!
new was good. but it was so packed i had to sit up front which i hate lol.

well duh the new 1. it's more modern even though it takes place in the 60's. plus it's got a beat that grabs people's attention and has well known stars like zac efron and jon travolta.

omg.. i loved the old hairspray but zac efon was in the new hairspray.. n he is drop-dead- georgeous.. hehehehe
but i still prefer the old one..
Original was great , remake was pointless (which doesnt mean it's not good)
