How many Sequels is enough for one Movie?!

Question: i think only 2....... but 1 is enough now these days

Answers: i think only 2....... but 1 is enough now these days

Anything over 3 is pushing it!!! They just usually get lame after that.

I think it depends on the origional movie. Some movies put you in a fantasy world that needs explanation (lord of the rings, Star wars, etc). For those, the sky is the limit. I think thesame goes for others (scary movies - Friday the 13th, Nighmare on Elm street, Haloween, etc, or superhero movies - Spiderman, Superman, Batman).

But for all other types of movies, I think the cap is 3. For example: Vacation (european, family and vegas), can you imagine what a Griswald vacation would look like now.

I agree with the others...3 is enough.
I hear Saw 5 is in production. That's just getting ridiculous!

it depends how strong all the movie's are how they link i.e. High School Musical and High School Musical 2, they were quite good together, Grease and Grease 2, they don't go carry on together.

3 after that it just gets ridiculous. What didn't you say in the first 3?

Mad Magazine had the right idea when they had a cover showing a multiplex that had on the marquee-Rambo 15 and Terminator 22. A real riot. Quit while you're ahead people.

The popular movie cartoon of the '80's, 'The Land Before Time'(1988), has another 12 sequels. Which means there are 13 of them. So far. God help us!
And speaking of, how about prequels? I hated the prequel of Dirty Dancing... Which was Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights and it was a lame movie trying to steal the fame of the original.

For most movies, it should stop at one. Two is acceptable for a rare few. In very, very, very rare cases, a third is necessary and not overdoing it, but that's such an unusual case that it's barely worth mentioning. Never, ever, ever, ever more than 3.

Well, it depends. I wouldn't say two, because sequels usually are pretty bad, and they try to fix it on the third one. As long as the story is good, I think there's no limit. Some movies though, do not deserve even one.

That depends on the quality of the original and on whether or not they can come up with a storyline for the next film as good as the first instalment. Some sequels work very well, others
are an embarrassment. I'd draw the line at no more than 3 (unless it's something like Star Wars. Harry Potter etc).
