The Treasure of the Sierra Madre

but my favorite by far is the little seen Last Train from Gun Hill starring Kirk Douglas and Anthony Quinn. I can't hint at the story for this should be seen. Douglas gives one of his best performances ever...and Anthony Quinn's performance...is exquisite.

The best made is "The Stagecoach" by John Ford with John Wayne. Second, "My Darling Clementine" also by Ford with Henry Fonda and Walter Brennan. Then, the US Cavalry sagas made by John Ford: "Fort Apache", "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon", "Cheyenne Autumn". Clint Eastwood's "The Unforgiven" with him and Gene Hackman. There are so many...

All of Zholla's plus;
The Outlaw Jose Wales
The Unforgiven

Any western movie with John Wayne was great. The Cowboys is a good example. You should watch it one day. It's an awesome movie.

Blazing Saddels, Dancing with the wolves, The Good the Bad and the ugly, and jerimiah Johnson.

The Outlaw Josey Wales
True Grit
Lonesome Dove
High Plains Drifter
Stagecoach
The Gunfighter
The Sacketts
Quigley, Down Under

The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence, The Long Riders, The Great Northfield Minnesota Raid, Tombstone, McCabe and Mrs. Miller, and Little Big Man.

I'm a big Eastwood fan, so it's his Dollar-movies, incl. The Good the Bad and the Ugly, The Outlaw Josie Wales, Hang Em High and High Plains Drifter. Little Big Man (w. Dustin Hoffman) and Winchester '73 (w. James Steward) are also great.

most anything with john wayne but especially stagecoach, hondo, north to alaska, legend of the lost and the searchers. the last two are the best

I notice several people writing the title of Clint Eastwood's movie as "THE Unforgiven". There is a movie from the fifties by that title, but Eastwoods flic is just 'Unforgiven'. Just wanted to clarify. Its one of the best.

My favorite movie of all is 'Jeremiah Johnson', a western starring Robert Redford.
