Five great performances, but honestly my choice would be Tommy Lee Jones in "In the Valley of Elah." He gave the best performance of his career in a movie not many people saw.

Daniel Day-Lewis -- There Will Be Blood is most likely to get it.
Johnny Depp. He should get it Sweeney Todd he is good. Beisides he has been ignored all these yrs as he does not do main stream box office hits. He only started that with the Pirates franchise.
Daniel Day Lewis will definetly get the Oscar. I haven't seen There Will Be Blood, but I've seen scenes, and it looks pretty intense. He seems to deliver a good performance. Plus, there has been major buzz about him. I've seen The Crucible with Daniel Day Lewis, and he was great in there, so I'm guessing he was great in There Will Be Blood.

I think Johnny Depp should win because he did very well in "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street". He did capture the character he was portraying very well, but I know that Daniel Day-Lewis will win because people can't stop raving about his performance.
