I used to always buy popcorn, a drink and some candy for everyone in our family when we went. Then I realized we were taking the candy home and the popcorn was only being eaten by one person. ANd that the drinks were being tossed with more than half a drink in it.
Now we buy a small popcorn for the one person that enjoys it, and either one drink for all three of us or bring pop with us, and we also stop at Wal-mart and buy candy before we go. Thank God for large purses and the women who carry them, lol.
It really isn't about cost, though, it is more an issue of waste. I really hate to see food thrown away. I don't mind paying for a night out.
PS- I loved buttered movie popcorn with extra butter, but my doc is not a big fan of it, lol.

well, generally yes. you take it, walk to the stand and pay for it. it's how it goes. sometimes, if you're feeling REAL creative, you get yourself a drink too.

I'm not really a popcorn fan, but my wife is. I'd rather just get a drink and get either chocolate covered peanuts, or raisonetts, then I'd go out for chinese afterward.

Its a ripoff, its like $4.75 for a small bag of popcorn, its usually old crap popcorn thats been laying in the heating cabinet for an hour, so it has no flavor and its all stale.
My old theather had one small bag for $3.00, fresh, and it tasted amazing. Often times they'd just give it for free. Which is probably one of the many reasons why they went out of business.
