I credit Heathers for starting that dark teen-angst genre. But after having seen it again recently (last time was since it first came out) I have to say the story seems to delineate quite often between social pressures, suicide, and some mass murder plot so in the end you don't know what the point was.
Jawbreakers was focused more on solving a murder cover-up where the title characters just happened to be popular teens. I like them both because they are in fact, so vastly different yet fall into the dark humor category.
I have to admit it.Jawbreaker was hilarious
Heathers because Jawbreaker would never had been written if the the writer had not seen heathers.
