Step-Up 2 appropriate?!

Question: My 5-year-old neice absolutely LOVES dancing, music and anything to do with them. I wanted to take her to see Step Up 2, but I was wondering if it was age-appropriate. AKA: Is there sex/drugs/violence and what are they? Thanks!

She's going to find out anyways, PG - 13, really doesn't mean much now and days. Plus she probably already knows what's going on.

Now if you want to perverse her until she finds out and freaks, then be my guest. But from a movie viewer's view its really good, and I really think that your niece probably wont even think about the minor violence that happens in the movie and really be inspired by the dancing. It's great.

It's rated PG-13. I haven't seen it, but I wouldn't consider taking my 5-year-old niece to a PG-13 movie.

no it,s pg-13

Although the dancing is fabulous, I believe that 5 year olds a re bit too young for that movie. There is some violence, insignificant compared to some movie, but no sex or drugs.
And as the title says, it is street violence...
hope it helps...
