Court Room Drama Movie, Anyone???!
Question: Something about a psychopathic killer, who kills and drinks the blood of a family during Christmas, is captured and is taken to trial; the district attorney wants the death penalty, but during the legal proceedings, the killer escapes. I think that it was based upon a true event.
I don't remember the title, but I DO remember some kind of contraversy about the film, distribution had to be delayed, and the film supposedly had to be recut, before eventual release.
Hopefully, this gives someone a clue or two, as to what I'm looking for.

...I believe that you're thinking of the chilling, and quite disturbing court room thriller/drama, directed by William Friedkin, and called "Rampage"; it starred Michael Biehn as the district attorney, wnich you spoke of...
I really want to watch that movie, Rampage, but I can not find it anywhere. Sounds really scary.
