It's both hokey and predictable, but fun to watch. Amanada Peet has a small role as Sean Flanery's girlfriend. She's her usual fun, scene-stealing self.
There's a wonderful movie called "Like Water For Chocolate",if you can handle subtitles.It's one of the highest grossing films from Mexico from the early 90's.It's all about how this woman's emotions are transferred into the food she's preparing and how they are transferred to the people that eat her food.
