Edward Furlong. Maybe he wasn't the best actor but I could believe that the guy that would save the world was once like him. Not so much with Nick Stahl - (1) John a tranquilizer-stealing loser? Really? (2) Marrying that pain Katherine, who's supposed to help him save the world. Word of advice: if your lady does something that reminds you of your dead mother and this *makes you fall for her*, you need to go to therapy, pronto.
Maybe it's less about the actor than the character but it's difficult to separate the two here, as I don't picture Nick Stahl as the kick-butt type any more than I picture that John Connor doing that.
