remember the titans
it happens around 1970 but made in 1998
the oppening is some people walking at a funeral ( you'll know what that's for at the end )
when there were hate in colors and race
a school had to integrate or else they will get closed so they hire a black coach and exhange for a white coach
so black students starts joining the football team
but half of the football team didn't want it since thier white
so the coach made a camp and there the team captain became friends with julius ( a black guy ) even if jerry/gary's parents didn't allow it
and in the end, they "remember the titans" you'll know what hat means when you watch it

The Color Purple - A story told by the main character who is a black female, the story starts in 1914 and is about her life with her abusive father and husband and what life was like for black people back then. A very touching story with Whoopi Goldberg and Oprah Winfrey.
Muriels Wedding - Set in Australia in a town called Porpoise Spit about a woman called Muriel. She is a lower class woman who never really had any friends and a father who verbally abused her and her siblings. One day she goes on holiday and bumps into someone she knew in high school and they become good friends. She is obsessed with weddings and one day finds her chance but realises she wants to marry for love. It's a very touching movie.

The Hours. It's one of the only movies that has actually moved me.
It just follows the stories of three women in different time periods all of whom have problems in their lives: Two of them suffer from depression, one has a friend who has AIDS - and all three stories are all expertly tied together.
But don't expect a happy ending.

it's about this playwright who becomes friends with these kids one day when he is writing in the park. they have these adventures and along the way he thinks of a really unique idea for a play. (there's much more to it than that, but that is the basic plot outline)

Schindler's List (1993)
"Oskar Schindler is a vain, glorious and greedy German businessman who becomes unlikely humanitarian amid the barbaric Nazi reign when he feels compelled to turn his factory into a refuge for Jews. Based on the true story of Oskar Schindler who managed to save about 1100 Jews from being gassed at the Auschwitz concentration camp. A testament for the good in all of us."
