Robert Donat or Mr.O'Toole ? Daddy or Chips ? I think both have something to say.Normally remakes of B+W movies do not work.Witness all the Scrooge remakes.Nobody will ever top Alistair Sims. Then again some cover versions of songs are still worth a listen .....................

Robert Donat's masterpiece!

Robert Donat - no contest.

I was about to give my opinion but Banana Ray says it all.
Robert Donat, a 7 tissue movie with a box of chocs and a bottle of wine.

Lady above - probably a whole box of tissues! I darent watch it.

ROBERT DONAT...hands down...magnificent...you actually felt the actor himself (aside from the character he portrayed), especially when you know that he died tragically young (asthmatic condition)...

he was SO gentle, so HUMAN...unbelievable
