Girls only watch movies for the "Hot" guys. Am I right to think this?!
Question: All the girls I have ever personally met don't know diddley squat about movies. All they care about is if the main dude in the movie is hot or not. They'll watch a piece of crap film as long as it has Clooney, Depp, Orlando Bloom, Brad Pitt, Zac Efron, Vin Diesal, Paul Walker, or whoever else's man stick they want inserted inside them. Am I being sexist? Or am I being a realist? I watch movies for entertainment, and for the quality. I dont care if there is a hot chick in it or not. I care about the movie.

i don't think you are being sexist but i think you are generalizing a little, like i am about to do.
girls in their teens to early twenties certainly view movies this way. when Pirates of the Carribean or LoTR came out, all you hear about is Orlando Bloom this, Orlando Bloom that, Viggo Mortensen this, Johnny Depp that, you don't hear anything about the movie itself, just they love to see the seemingly hot hero character killing people and making jokes. they are bad boys which girls like. And sometimes they are more obvious about it than guys are. Like when Titanic came out they fantasized about some amazing adventure romance with a boy etc. it's the same deal.
they are more sympathetic/empathetic so the transference works better on them, they find themselves more readily identifying with the female lead and her fantasies too.
until they mature, there are only relatively few who actually think about what they are watching beyond the glamour boy lead.
i think part of it is related to the changes in emotional maturity and interest that occur as girls grow up, and the other part is that girls notice different things and in general think less critically about a movies message or methods and more about the emotional response. it's just the way girls are.
guys are more analytical in general whereas girls are more emotional. i think you are seeing some of that in your experience.
I take offense to that! I love movies. Pitt, Clooney, and Damon will grow old and get ugly and fat. Movies are forever.

Sometimes girls go to movies because of a hot guy sure but not all the time.
XD Ok me personaly i do care about the "hot" guy in the movie but if the movie is a peace of crap i dont like the movie no matter who is in it i and most girls watch movies so they can watch for quality ect ect but girls cant help but to obsesse (sorry im not that grate at spelling) over the hottest guys

Okay you should have said "some" girls or "most " girls. But even "most " bothers me. But Not all girls do. I love movies. I love everything about them . I love to watch movies for entertainment, to learn, for mystery, to be scared, to criticize it. I watch movies in all aspect that one can watch a movie. If there is an attractive guy in it then hey bonus. But I would so much rather watch a good movie to old Jack Nicholson in it the a bad movies with Keanu Reeves
how else can we get you to go see a war movie like top gun, unless we put a volley ball game in it with a bunch of sweaty half naked guys?:)
Your negative attitude towards women has caused you to see only the ones who perpetuate your stereotype. What makes a male lead in a movie attractive to the woman of average or above average intellect and quality is the sum total of all there is to him.
If being "reelly reelly reelly, (pause and pout for the ZOOLANDER effect)...reelly good looking" were all that a woman wanted in a male lead fellas like short Orlando Bloom and pastey Paul Walker would not be on screen long enough for their inner charisma to light up the screen.
If you are truly interested in meeting women who care about plot, cinematography, pacing etc. then have a chat or two over coffee and talk about the kind of movies you enjoy. If she doesn't glaze over , then take her out to a movie. If your real problem is that you are insecure about your inherent masculine value and cannot stand to hear a woman has eyes and can see then you are a wannabe alpha dog. A true Alpha like say Sean Connery doesn't need random female approval to validate himself. Real men are sexy, not sexist.
well if you are looking on the majority of girls then yes. they do watch movies too see the "sexy" guy that they want oh so dearly. but this is also true for the majority of guys too. how many guys appreciate the art and quality of ther movie? the mojority of guys i know and girls for that matter watch movies only for the eye candy. i on the other hand watch movies to see the art in a story and relate it to my life. i dont really care how hot or ugly the dude is. it's all about how people present themselves in movies that make me like the character or not. yeah but finding people like me and you are almost impossible in the world we live in that is based on media and sex.
I agree. I'm a chick but I watch movies for the entertainment. It annoys me that all these other females watch the movies just cuz the 'hot guys'. If you think about it the only reason most of these girls went crazy over Lord of the Rings is because of the 'hot guys' that were in it. If they didn't have those guys in it then they wouldn't like it as much.
I will admit sometimes I watch movies for the hot chicks though..expecially Lizzy Caplan. ::drooling::
