I like the old John Wayne westerns the best, especially Rio Bravo and The Cowboys.
Hmm, I really liked Open Range, the shoot out was very different and original in that. But El Topo is probably my favorite of all time, but thats not really everyone's kind of western movie.
You just said it mine is " Unforgiven" I loved the gun fighting scenes and on top of the Clint Eastwood kills his performance in that. Second runner up will be 3:10 To Yuma. Unforgiven has been the best Western movie I have seen for years until 3:10 to Yuma came along

Anything with Clint Eastwood. I guess my favorite is "The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly"
some other good ones are "Lonesome Dove, The Sacketts, Crossfire Trail"(Tom Selleck is great in westerns by the way), Comanche Moon, Once Upon a Time in the West, Last Train from Gunhill, 3:10 to Yuma, Tombstone, One Eyed Jacks, Apoloosa. I can go on and on.
