I just came back from seeing the movie like an hour ago....it was so good! its brand new......the first day it was out was 2day. :)

Alot of movies take a while to make so yes they pribably did start the filming then.
Sometimes there are more versions.
The story could have been written in 2006 and the movie came out now. It could also have been a book or something. The movie is recent though. Hoping to watch it soon!

no it was first realeased in canda in 2006 so it goes by its first viewing
"Penelope," has been on a shelf for nearly two years. It changed distributors about a year ago, and no one knew how to sell it or what to do with it. The limited release reflected a lack of confidence in the movie.
