i would look for production companies that specialise in making trailers. (they exist)
try and sit on a session and see how it works. most people are willing to impart with their knowledge without asking anything in return (just look at yahoo answers!).
then try cutting an existing movie into your own trailer. try not to look at the original cut tho as it'll influence your judgment.
get your own style ad flavour.
