Why do people think the movie title "10,000 B.C" is offensive?!

Question: Havn't you heard all those athiests going around saying "10,000 BC is offensive! They should change it to 10,000 BP!"?

I personally I think they're stupid. Its just a movie title. I'm a Christian and I belive in god, if there was an anthiest movie teaching about how god isn't real or something... well, I wouldn't be offended. I would just ignore it and let the morons watch it and just get on with life....

I mean seriously its just a movie title... get over it!

Yes, I just read comments like that on IMdB. They are really stupid. Think about this. Christians believe that the earth is only 6000 years old. Therefore, that would make the movie 10000 BC. a non Christian movie. Since it believes in a time before the earth was created. Eat that you dumb "Im offended" idjits.

Same reason why Christians think the book 'The Golden Compass' is offensive. It goes against their beliefs so they're going to throw a big fit about it! I mean, you can't please everyone. I'm a christian too, and am not usually offended by that stuff unless someone says plain out that my religion is stupid and pointless. But, I can see why some do. They're raised to believe a certain thing, and it bothers them that people don't believe the same thing.

is offensive alittle bit because in the bible i guess it says that the world started around 4,000 bc not 10,000 bc.

I have to agree with Nell up there. But I do think its a LITTLE over board on stupid.

I haven't heard anyone complaining about it.

What does BP even stand for?

EDIT: Okay, "Before Present" doesn't even make sense. Everything is before present. Yesterday was before present. This movie is supposed to take place 10,000 years before the birth of Christ, right? BC? That's not the same as 10,000 years before present.

People are stupid.

Shouldn't this offend the religious crowd too since they don't believe the world was created yet 12000 years ago?
