Have you seen the movie "Gia"?!

Question: what did you think about it?

Answers: what did you think about it?

Wow, that was an amazing movie. I think it was not only a raw and emotionally unsettling depiction of what his woman's life really was, but it was a perfect picture of what the modeling world was like back then. It's probably still that way - if not worse. It's incredibly sad how they could take someone with so much energy and life and passion and reduce her to pile of ashes without a care in the world. Almost as if that was their goal all along - to destroy her and break her spirit.

Angelina Jolie's vulnerability in that film is just HEARTBREAKING. And when you discover that she actually identified a lot with Gia and as as result, went through a very difficult time physically and mentally while shooting that film... you realize it kind of gives you a glimpse into A.J's vulnerability as well.

Great movie. What a sad life Gia had - drugs took everything away

In general I give high ratings to reality-based films, and I rate this one highly. Back in the late 70s and early 80s I was busy helping raise 5 little children and was not aware of who the supermodels were. "Gia" certainly seems to have been one of the most curious. A web search shows that she indeed was a beautiful young woman, even more beatuiful than Angelina Jolie who plays her in this film.

As the film depicts, she was attracted to a wide variety of people, male and female, but came to love Linda, who she met at her first photo shoot, so she is generally considered a lesbian. Her downfall was getting mixed up in drugs, which led to her developing A.I.D.S. She was born in 1960 and died in 1986.

This was the role that jump-started Angelina Jolie's acting career. Shortly after she made Pushing Tin and Girl Interrupted. Here, in "Gia", she is nothing short of believable, a truly remarkable acting job. Or, was she really acting???

Seeing as how I'm not a fan of hers, I thought it was actually one of Jolie's better performances. Raw..... and sometimes gross.

It was quite "raw" you know, but a good movie, already showcasing what A.J. could do. And the true story line was sad but proof of what can happen to a child thrown into an adult world having too much too soon. I have the movie, but it's unsettling to me so I don't watch it anymore.

it was ok. i wouldn't watch it again.

Yeah. It was a good movie but really sad.

It's one of Angelina Jolie's best performances(just as she was on the cusp of stardom)she plays the part with a fierce intensity that hides the damaged, frail girl underneath. You don't walk away from this one without feeling that somehow, she was destined to play this role

Yes, I just stumbled across it on HBO or something years ago and I was enchanted by the beauty of the girl who played the part. I looked up information on her and found out she was Jon Voight's daughter. Of course, I didn't know anything about Angelina Jolie then, but I was impressed with her in that movie.
It was kind of a sad movie though.

Any man with a hand and an erect penis has seen that movie! Mmmm...Angolina's best work.

I thought it was a brilliant performance by Jolie, but as it got to the end of the movie it got more and more disturbing. Good movie though.

I thought it was a good film. That was the first time that I remember seeing Angelina Jolie in a movie and I was really impressed with her performance.
