the plaque says that the lady died saving three children. by hiding her true identity, she teaches a lesson about love and thus saves the other 3 people in the movie.
i think the men are just looking at her because she is beautiful. but the main part about the last scene is that she keeps crossing the road even though the crossing signal is red. so it basically shows that she doesnt care for her own life. this again relates to the lady in the plaque who risked her own life.

The men was looking at her because she's beautiful, u notice she keeps crossing even in red light. she seems to carefree.
well he realized that the Girl's name was fake, that the girl got the name that she will use for the rest of her relationship with Jude law, from one of the plaques.
Remember at the first part of the film when they were not yet introduce to each other they pass by that area, so the girl (Nat Portman) got the name from one of the plaques and gave that to Jude Law
so in short Jude Law never knew the true identity of Natalie Portman till the end of the movie.

I say WRONG! The girl that saved 3 children took place like centuries ago, and that event was written on the plaques as a remebrance for the heroes from before.
so Natalie derived her name to that dead woman, and that she will use for the rest of the movie. And her real name was concealed from Jude Law.
