Are women more afraid during a scary movie than men? Why or why not?!

Question: Not really - I think it depends on the person, and young girls just like to scream, I think.

I LOVE scary movies and watch stuff my hubby won't even look at. lol

im fearless

scary movies dont scare me unless i see them in the theater with my friends and im hyper.

I'm not they don't scare me I know they are fake. My husband on the other hand is a wimp

It depends on the Person! NO 2 ppl are alike! so no one can really answer your question with a right answer!!

Scary movies dont scare me unless i know there based on a true story x

My boyfriend used to just be scared to death during scary movies and I was loving it! We both used to just eat them up when we were dating. I'd say it's not a gender thing, more personal than anything.

Right before the scary parts of a movie, I shake my girls hand and she jumps in her seat... she gets so MAD at me :( I don't know why...

I'm not and I'm a woman.
I don't know why girls seem to get more scared than guys.
I guess they're not as "strong", and I honestly don't like it.
That's one of the many fake reasons why guys are supposedly stronger than women.

nope. I had a sleepover with a male friend and he refused to watch the horror film. When he eventually agreed he barely watched it, and when he did he was constantly screaming. Because the idea that women are helpless and men are fearless is a stereotype any accuracy to this claim is merely coincidence

they re looking for an excuse to cling to their boyfriend by pretending to be scared

I'd say it depends on the person - my wife can't stand scary movies, but her best friend loves them. Also, I'd say that generally women would be more likely to admit being scared. Men seem to have an ego/image issue. :)

In gereral, it seems women get more scared in scary moives(not all of them of course) but llike to show it a lot. But guys always want to be the tough ones so if they're scared they'd try to hide it. I think girls do it on purpose sometimes for their boyfriend.

Women, same reason why women cry and men don't.

hehe its quite funny really, i lurrrv scary movies..and most of my films i own are scary, but my boyfriend bless him is terrified of them!! we went to watch 30 days of night and he was squeezing my hand so tight....but i think in normal cases its about 50/50 lol..some boys are terrifed (like my lil baby lol) and others are all matcho lol.

I'd have to say it matter about the people involved. I know some guys who can't stand horror movies, and others, like myself, who can watch basically anything. Then I know some girls who are the same way.

I think the answer is that they are equally scared or unscared. The reason is deeper. Men are taught not to show emotion from our society so being scared is seen as unmasculan. Women are allowed and "supposed" to in our society. That's where some derogatory terms like Nancy boy came from.

There are many examples against this trend but I think it still holds as a general rule (more than half the time), agree with it or not.

I love going to see a scary movie with my older brother (I'm 33, he's 39). When we went to see "The Grudge" he was screaming like a little girl. As we were leaving, we ran into a man and his wife that my brother knows. The man said to my brother, "I didn't see you in there!" I said, "I'm sure you heard him, though." He looks my brother right in the eyes and said, "That was YOU?" Priceless . . .

Different ways of reacting-that's all.

i think men are and ima guy so yea...
we dont show it cuz the girls are afraid and that to me if some is more afraid than me then i just laugh and i dont get scared easily whn someone is more afraid...
but if there was a tough *** chick.. then she would know that the guy is afraid or not.

nope
