Frankly,my dear,I do give a damn! This is one of the best films ever made,even more so because of the luminous portrayal of Scarlett O'Hara by the one and only Vivien Leigh. She's everything(almost)that you could want in a performance(the almost is because in the first line of the book,it's revealed the Scarlett wasn't"beautiful" but in cinematic terms,no less than a tearing beauty could play the role)of course the depiction of blacks is lamentable,but still not as bad as films that came before or after it. And Clark Gable gave the performance of his life as the roguish Rhett Butler. Vivian gets all the fireworks and the chest-heaving histrionics,but his performance is the one that holds the whole thing together. And Hattie McDaniel is wonderful as the all-seeing,all-knowing Mammy. She played the part with dignity,even in the light-hearted scenes.

Oh i agree. I can cry and cry over it. And Dr Zhivago as well. My bloke and sons thinks Im a bit eccentric so I hardly ever get to watch them - footy tends to rule in our house.

hell no i hate that movie boring as hell
i think it was one of the best movies ever made. i would not call it sad even tho it has a few sad parts. every couple of years or so i still watch it and still enjoy it as much as the first time. ok maybe not the first time but still i love watching it and YES ITS A CLASSIC.
yes it is a very good movie and its sad and heart touching at the same time its my moms favorite movie

Wow yeah I love this film. I have seen it so many times and I never get bored. I have also got the book with the script in it. Now I want to watch it and think this is what I am going to do tomorrow. Did you know that Vivien Leigh hated kissing Clark Gable because he had terrible breath! Love her clothes If I had the money (or talent) would dress like that - real women!!
Oh and you are not alone my husband thinks I am sad too, he has never seen Wizard of Oz all the way through!! how can he call me sad.
