we know Leonardo dies..but what happened to Solomon Vandy..did he find his wife & what happened to the big diamond?

Solomon ends up in London giving a speech. He gets his wife and kids back. He pretends to sell it to the sleazy wee diamond dealer in London, with the help of the lady reporter and gets him arrested. He keeps the 2 million quid he is given by the diamond dealer, the diamond ends up in the downstairs vault you saw at the beginning. It will be held there to make sure the prices stay artificially high. Great movie, but oh dear, the bloodshed!!
Solomon traded the diamond to that Simmons guy for a large sum of money. He was also reunited with his family.
