Have movies gotten TOO VIOLENT these days?!
Question: I watched the movie "DOOMSDAY" on Sunday. If you like gory, crazy, end of the world action movies. This one is for you! Better then Resident evil in my opinion. I shockingly loved it...But anyway. It was really violent! it was splatter, heads blowing up/cut off gory.
So watching it got me thinking. Have movies gotten too violent these days? are they trying to push the limit too far. Now I'm a gore fan but even watching it had me kinda cringing. . .

I would have to agree.Nothing is left to the imagination.If the violence and gore is not very explicit some people don't think it is a good movie.I remember watching "Wait Until Dark" and the original "Psycho" at the theatre and much of the suspence was suggested.They were frightening movies.I suppose by today's standards of grauitous sex and violence those 2 movies are pretty tame.I guess I'm showing my age .
When your short on plot and possibly short on good acting then they go with gore to keep people distracted I guess... seems to have work ...
I agree movies are so Gory now..it used to be the camera would cut away and now you get everything..i esp hate when they kill kids or animals and they show it on the screen..i cant handle that

It is getting so common place to have such violence that people don't even notice it. Many kids think that it is okay to "do" that level of violence since they see it so often. I work with some of these kids that think violence is the answer and it is terrifying.
yea and i refuse to watch any movies that are gross and scary! [:
are you crazy movies today are was to damn tame. look at movies from the 70's and early 80's they were insane and gory and way more violent

With television and the internet, things that are gross, gorey, bloody are reaching all new levels.
We just aren't as sensitive to that stuff as we once were.
then don't watch it

What I detest is the values of those rating the movies. Cuss words can cause an "R" rating, while beatings, and other violence garner a "PG" rating. To Americans bare breasts are much more offensive than the pounding of someones face. How sick is that?
