There are alot of good sequels. The best are Spider-man 2&3, Aliens, both Bournes and the incredible Hulk and Superman (yet to be released).
I agree with the two that you mentioned. If I had to choose, I would say Terminator 2 because of the excellent story, the awesome action, and it was more emotional than the first one (you actually felt for John Connor when the good terminator "died.") The other reason I agree with your choices is because with those movies, the majority of the people that you ask will agree that they were superior than their predacessors. Some people may argue Godfather part 2 but most people I know, including myself, feel that the original Godfather was the better film. I would however add Empire Strikes Back because most people, including myself also say that it was better than the original Star Wars movie.

'The Empire Strikes Back' & 'Aliens.' A difficult feat to accomplish for sequals.
Both of those on my list also Indianna Jones, Jerasic Park, Star Wars, Lord Of The Rings, Harry Potter, The Mummy Returns and that is just about all i can think of.
I don't believe no one has said the Bourne supremacy/Ultimatum. More modern but bloody fantastic. They get my vote. X
