In one of the first flash backs, when something hits the window of the car, it stays on that scene a little longer and you can see it is in fact one of the Infected. You get a nice shot of it's head. . .
When Neville first caught the Alpha Female, he was doing his little examination of her and he finds a little butterfly tat on her shoulder.
After Anna comes in and he does the scene where he's mimicking Shrek, Anna asks what happened to his leg, so he goes out to show her the trap the Infected had set up, but Neville still thinks they're not smart enough to do such a thing. Then Neville takes Anna and Ethan to the place he fishes and Ethan is playing in the water. He says "It's cold," and that's what gave him the idea for ice on the Infected lady.
The alternate ending was SOOOO CUTE!!! The Alpha male is pounding on the glass door, then slaps his palm against the door and wipes some sweat or something on the window twice and makes a little butterfly-like design, then backs off. Neville remembers the butterfly tat on the Infected lady and looks at it, then comes to a decision. He makes Anna open the door, then carts out the Infected lady after taking out the cure, thus making her Infected again. He comes out of the safe room and the Alpha male holds back all the other Infected while Neville gets her ready to leave. He injects something into her, waking her up, and the Alphas have this most ADORABLE moment! They're all nuzzling each other and look completely happy to be together again! The Alpha Male picks her up, Neville apologizes, and the Infected spare their lives. My sister's friend said, "You die another day!" The Infected leave after the Alpha male nods to Neville, then the next morning Anna, Ethan, and Neville are driving out of Manhattan.

They should have used this ending. There were so many things throughout the film that, in the theater, I thought were bloopers. THIS ending would have made much more sense and, I felt, was much more powerful and moving.
it has some additional scenes. Like after Sam gets killed, Will and that girl Anna go look at the trap that caught Will. He says that it WAS HIS snare that caught him! so the "HEMOCYTES" had to move it like they had to move the manniken FRED! who if u remember WAS standing outside of thd video store! also, in the lab downstairs of Will's house there is an additional scene that puts the question of the HEMOCYTES evolution to an end! i think it is a MUCH BETTER ENDING!!!
When Anna Ethan, and Neville are in the glass room in stead of Neville getting blown up while killing the zombies.He gives zombies what they wanted the zombie that was being cured.Then the zombies leave and Anna Ethan, and Neville go to the colinie in the mountians.
It was lame
