Why don't woman watch action and horror flicks??!
Question: I used to love scary movies in high school but i remember the last one i saw(in high school) kept me up for days, scared sh*tless. So i stopped.
But i also talked to a few woman who say they don't like action or hooror movies like they used to?

I still like to watch horror and action movies.
However, I have found that movies effect a person differently depending on how creative, intelligent, sensitive and aware they are and what is going on in their lives.
When you are a teen, it is easier to watch a horror movie and just see it as a made up fantasy and short term thrill and not a "real" experience.
When you get older, if you have a better imagination, are smarter and more sensitive than your peers, you are more empathetic and relate to people in the film more and realize bad things can and do happen in real life, and sometimes (if the actors and directors have done their job well) you can empathize so strongly that you actually feel like what is happening to the charactor could or even is happening to you and the experience becomes personal.
Example: I was watching on DVD and had to turn off "Alpha Dog" after the 15 year old was murdered by guys had come to trust and sobbed for several minutes even after that - I knew it was based on a true story and I have a 14 year old son. I could see my son being naive to be the charactor that was killed.

I am a woman and that's all I watch. Horror, action, thriller...I dont like them girly, sappy, love stories..when I sit down to watch a movie, I dont want to be crying through half of it!!!
I am a woman, I watch many different types of movies. I like a variety. I am a big fan of horror films. I also like action movies too. Nothing like sitting down late a night, cutting off the lights and watch a good scary movie. But they dont make them like they used to. All the movies today are basically the same when it comes to being scary, they arent scary at all , more of a grusome and gore..Many people watch many different movies because the simple fact that they are different and have different personalities...
