Romero's Dead series?!

Question: Do we need to watch all of George A. Romero's Zombie films (e.g. Night of the Living Dead) to understand the sequels. Or are all five of them independent?

...each one of the films pretty much play independently, even though they take place in different scenarios on the 'Romero/Living Dead' timeline mythos; I suspect that Romero was not so much interested in maintaining direct continuity, as far as storyline and characters, than he was about making underlining parallel social commentary, based upon the what was going on in the world, socially, at the time when each film was produced and released...

No. They pretty much explain what happens in the beginning of each film.

I would watch all of them they very good movies and you won't be let down watch them in order too Night . Dawn, Day, Land and Diary
