Why was there never a prequal to the Blair Witch Project?!
Question: It was such a popular movie and it doesn't really explain how the witch came to be and whatnot, so I was just curious as to why there never was one. Anyone know?

Because the sequal did so poorly in the box office. Plus, the first Blair Witch Project was very unique. Trying to embody the same story, like they did in the sequal, only takes away from the original. I think they made a mistake in making the seqaul and should have done a preqaul right after the BWP was made. It would have been a great scary story. perhaps iff enough people show interest in the idea they will get to it eventually, but people got all BW'ed out.

Not sure, but I am glad they didn't. It probably wouldn't have worked out too well. That was all a hoax anyway.

There was never a prequEl to BWP as the sequel was very poor and wasn't recieved well.
