Question: I wouldn't suggest it unless they have seen films of a similar nature. If they really want to watch it then let them but tell them before hand that if they get nightmares or if they are afraid, its there own fault. gets them used to life that stuff.

NO. It will give them the idea gangsters are glamorous. If they are 12 and 14, keep them within PG for as long as you can. They have the rest of their lives to be disillusioned.
No it is not okay...that is unless you want to rob them of their childhood!
