Answers: If you are very familiar with the movie Big Fish, I'd appreciate your thoughts on each of these questions.

1. What makes Edward a good protagonist?
2. What makes his stories interesting?
3. Why does Will try and prove his story wrong?

2. His stories are interesting because they appeal to the child in everyone, that still loves fantasy, great things, impossible stories. They make the imagination churn, even in film.

3. Will believes that proving his father wrong will make him tell the "truth" about his life. Will thinks that knowing the actual story about his father will give them a real relationship, and a relationship with his father is all he wants. It's not until the end of the film that he realizes that the stories his father tells are the ones that define him and it doesn't matter what actually happened. By accepting his father's versions of the events in his life, he truly bonds with his dying father.
