The Shinning; it's not been the same since I read the book though. Misery is also pretty scary at bits.
A better option is either a book or a mini-series; usually a Stephen King one does the trick. IT & Storm Of The Century are personal favourites.

"Blair Witch Project". I know for some it didn't do a thing. But I couldn't sleep well for almost a week.

Nightmare on Elm Street scared the *bleep* out of me when I was in High School. Now it's just stupid. I can't believe how freakin' scared I was back then. I lost a lot of sleep thanks to Freddie in the green and red striped sweater with the finger knives.
The Exorsist

Maybe: Hostel, The Hills Have Eyes, The Hills Have Eyes 2, Saw, Saw II, Saw III, Saw IV, The Exorcist, Shutter, or Descent. :]
The Exorcist scared the c-r-a-p out of me when I was younger but now there's not much out there that is really truly scary.

The first time I saw The Ring in 8th grade. I was okay until she crawled out of the tv. I could not look at a tv for a week. After the fifth sleepover, you get over it.

amityville horror was pretty scary. anything to do with ghosts freaks me out. if resident evil 4 could me made in a film, the same as the game i reckon that would scare quite a lot of people. the ring was good when it first came out. hostel was another. i watched a film called 'the gate' when i was a kid that scared me, if it was remade i reckon it could be a great film!
