Burn movies on DVD?!

Question: I have some avi-movies on my computer. How do I burn them with Nero on a dvd so I can watch them on my dvd-player?
Is it also possible to burn them with subtitles, so I can watch the movies on my tv with subtitles? (if not possible with Nero, could you suggest any other program?)

To do it right, you will probably have to use some sort of editing program like Adobe Premier Elements or a Sony Movie editing program. This will give you all the control you want regarding titles and menus, photos and animation. Unfortunately, there is a learning curve involved, but it is fun and if you have several movies it might be worth the effort.
